Iris's client, one of the world's largest financial institutions whose subsidiaries provide insurance, investment management, and other financial products and services is looking to hire " Data Engineer " for a contract to hire opportunity.

Position: Data Engineer

\n

Location: Newark, NJ - Hybrid- 3 Day onsite/week)

\n

Duration: 6+ Months W2 Contract to hire. (No C2C)

\n

\n

Must have:

\n

\n
• We are seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer with strong Denodo experience to design, build, and maintain scalable virtualized data products and semantic-layer solutions.
\n
• The ideal candidate will have expertise in data integration, virtualization, API enablement, and cloud-based ETL development.
\n
• This role will partner closely with Solution Architects, Tech Leads, AI Engineers, and Business SMEs to deliver trusted, governed, and AI-consumable data assets.
\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

Denodo Development

\n

\n
• Develop and maintain layers of views;
\n
• Build virtualized data products using Denodo best practices.
\n
• Implement: Relationship, joins, standardization, transformations
\n
• Apply enterprise naming conventions and business metadata standards.
\n

\n

\n

Data Engineering

\n

\n
• Build and support ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services.
\n
• Integrate data from multiple source systems, APIs, cloud platforms, and operational applications.
\n
• Support creation of canonical data models and semantic-layer entities.
\n
• Develop reusable data transformation components.
\n

\n

\n

Performance Optimization

\n

\n
• Optimize Denodo query performance.
\n
• Implement caching and accelerator strategies.
\n
• Tune joins, aggregations, and virtualized query execution.
\n
• Troubleshoot complex performance and integration issues.
\n

\n

\n

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience.
\n
• 3+ years of Denodo development experience.
\n

\n

\n

Strong knowledge of:
